This website is about the Woodgrange area in the northern part of the London Borough of Newham. Woodgrange has Forest Gate at its approximate centre, but with connections to Stratford in the west, Manor Park to the east, Leyton to the north-west and Plashet to the south. At the north-east, the edge is Wanstead Flats and Epping Forest. You can hear what people say about the area by going to the Neighbourhood page.
The website was at its most active between 2011 and 2014, a period that saw many developments in the Forest Gate/Manor Park area. These included the new street market, the coffee shops, the Women's Institute and neighbourhood initiatives like the Manor Park Garden, Balmoral Bridge project and the Forest Gate Garden, and they complemented long-standing community events such as the annual Forest Gate Festival. There were also developments in music and the arts, the local radio station and the burgeoning Clapton Football Club.
It is no longer possible to maintain the site fully, but information is updated from time to time and other useful information pages are still showing, such as local transport, local walks, Epping Forest and conservation matters (notably the design guides for the Woodgrange Estate).
